This innovative brake and torque control or torque management system results in higher, faster and, above all, better stability control for vehicles at the limit. Especially in racing, higher speeds can be achieved. This is because the increased drive impulse in the transverse connection of the braking system (right front wheel, drive on left rear wheel and vice versa) allows the vehicle to drift much more strongly in the corresponding direction. This additional steering function cannot be generated by any skilful braking manoeuvre.

Since July 2004, all new vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of less than 2.5 tonnes have been equipped with ABS as standard. In 2014, the "Electronic Stability Programme" (ESP ) was added as an extension and combination of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) with traction control (ASR) and electronic brake force distribution as well as with a brake assistant.

TECHNOLOGY
Nowadays, all current and active safety systems are forced to communicate with the ABS and ESP braking systems of the major system suppliers, such as Bosch or Conti. For this to be possible at all, applications have to be adapted and systems connected. The costs for this are correspondingly high.

INNOVATION
But there is another way! As an engineering partner and technology partner, we have realized a unique, alternative and intelligent drive development together with StabiControl GmbH, which works independently of existing brake systems: The wheel-selective torque control "FP Brake & TV System".

The system specifically controls both the electric motors (torque control) and the brakes, as well as the synchronisation of a combination of mechanical and electro-hydraulic brakes. The complex vehicle information is controlled by a central VCU. This gives us access to both, the braking system and the electric motor and allows us to control each wheel individually. We also use additional sensors to determine the current condition of the vehicle. This is no longer estimated, but calculated exactly!

Software development

The path to CO2-neutral mobility is the central topic of powertrain developments. We all have to pave the way as quickly as possible. The trends in the field of powertrain technology are complex and multi-layered. And we give utmost attention to electric mobility. Software becomes even more important, especially in powertrain solutions. Only through optimal synchronisation of all components can the efficiency and safety of vehicles be further increased.

At FP-Fahrzeugtechnik, we are not only proficient in the wide range of powertrains, but can also master all tasks around the entire vehicle. This enables us to develop solutions that are technically optimal and sustainable at the same time. We provide development services for automobiles with combustion engines, but also for alternative propulsion drives such as hybridisation and electrification.
